“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.” - Flannery O'Connor, American novelist
I am surprised by my fascination with writing.
Language and literature classes were always my least favorite in school. I never liked writing essays, and frankly, I do not read much fiction.
Over the past 10+ years, 99% of what I’ve read has been non-fiction. I read exclusively to learn. For me, reading is not a leisure activity; it's an intentional exercise to obtain knowledge.
It occurred to me recently that I had always associated writing with creative writing. For me, an author was someone who wrote novels or short stories with made-up characters. I was never interested in doing any of that, which is why I did not give writing much thought until a few years ago.
When I saw Flannery O’Connor’s quote describing writing as thinking, it clicked with me. That’s exactly what I do now. I write to help me think.
In January, I completed a digital writing program called Ship 30 for 30. During the 30 days of the program, I published one atomic essay (250-300 words) every single day. It was an incredible experience.
I decided to do another cohort in August-September. I have so much on my mind that I need to get clarity on, and writing is the only way I can do it.
The first atomic essays ships on Monday.

How will Web3 impact the future of work?
I am pleased to see that kind of article published by the World Economic Forum. This means that we are moving away from treating web3 in the context of the future of work as an esoteric topic and approaching mass adoption.
The WEF report states that the metaverse and DAO framework have the potential to change traditional organizational roles.
A DAO framework will enable a "flat" workplace structure that gives communities more power over conventional executives.
Traditional roles like manager, leader, contractor, and employee will evolve to create efficiency and delivery of work.
Firms would reach out to talent within the metaverse or DAO platforms to offer HR, finance, accounting, and customer service.

I am frustrated with traditional education because it leads one to believe that education and work are two separate stages in one’s life. You go to college to get an education. Once you are done, you get a job. From that point on, you no longer have to think about learning.
This fundamentally flawed thinking has set too many people on a life of missed opportunities. People no longer have to get a formal degree to continue learning. Countless self-paced and cohort-based courses are available on any topic imaginable. They are so worth it.
Thank you for reading!
